This storm was crazy, due to the long duration of it. I haven't seen a storm that lasted over 2 days in a very long time. 4-8 inches of snow were reported across the county. I myself reported 7 inches of total accumulated snow(not what is on the ground). This storm wasn't a bust. But the big winners(in Maryland) were in northern Frederick County, where someone measured 20 inches of snow. This was a historical storm in the rest of the northeast. The highest totals were close to 40 inches! In terms of accumulation, totals were at the lower end of expected snow. We had a sort of a bust at first, then a boom! The reason why we picked up as much as we did was because of the heavy banding that came from the storm in PA, often containing 1-3+ inches per hour rates. These bands dropped visibility and rapidly added snow accumulation. On Sunday, the snow steadily fell and dropped 3-5 inches, then on Monday-Tuesday, heavy bands dropped additional snow to increase the totals we are right now. On Monday, in the morning hours, heavy sleet fell. Sleet was falling so hard that it was downpouring it. We also had freezing rain too. Then, we switched to all snow in the afternoon hours.
