Although the weather is really nice and mild right now, there is a fire weather watch for most of the LWX forecasting area except for southeast Harford and northern Cecil counties. The reason this was done was that the conditions are optimal for fire to easily spread. We haven't had any precipitation for the past 1-2 weeks, and with less humidity and windy conditions, fire can easily spread. It's not a warning, because we don't have any reports of fire spreading, so it's still a watch. Make sure to still be careful. Southwest winds are 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, and humidity is as low as 23%. Any type of outdoor burning is highly discouraged and not recommended. What can you do? Listen to the latest NWS forecasts for the DMV, and for possible Red Flag Warnings.
